What is Gnosis?
Gnosis Chain (formerly xDai) is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 with a unique economic design: the native gas token is xDAI, a stable asset pegged to the US dollar, which means transaction fees are predictable in dollar terms rather than fluctuating with a volatile native token. GNO is the staking and governance token. Gnosis has been live since 2018 and hosts a mature ecosystem centered around Safe (the leading smart contract wallet, originally Gnosis Safe), CowSwap, and a robust DeFi stack.
