What is a DEX on Plasma?

A decentralized exchange (DEX) lets you trade tokens on Plasma directly from your wallet, with no account, no custody, and no middleman. Plasma's DEX liquidity includes Uniswap and other onchain venues. Prices and depth differ from one venue to the next, so the best price isn't always in the same place. Oku aggregates Plasma's DEX liquidity into a single interface: you enter a trade once, and Oku routes it for the best execution. You get the best price on Plasma without checking venues yourself, and Oku charges 0% fees on top.

What is Plasma?

Plasma is a Layer 1 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoin payments, launched in September 2025. It runs a custom consensus called PlasmaBFT and enables zero-fee USDT transfers through a protocol-level paymaster that sponsors gas for stablecoin transactions. The network is fully EVM-compatible, so standard Ethereum tooling works out of the box. XPL is the native token used for staking, governance, and gas on complex operations beyond simple stablecoin transfers. Plasma launched with over $2 billion in stablecoin liquidity and integrations from major DeFi protocols including Aave, Ethena, Fluid, and Euler. It's backed by Tether and targets the growing market for cross-border stablecoin payments and remittances, positioning itself as settlement infrastructure rather than a general-purpose smart contract platform.

How to trade on Plasma

1

Connect your wallet

Use MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, WalletConnect, or another Web3 wallet. Make sure you hold a little XPL on Plasma for gas.

Frequently asked questions

The cheapest venue changes with each token and trade size, so there's no single "best" DEX. Uniswap carries deep liquidity on Plasma, but Oku removes the guesswork: it compares Plasma's DEX liquidity in real time and routes your trade to the best price automatically.

Plasma's DEX liquidity includes Uniswap, Fluid, Curve and other onchain venues. Oku aggregates across them so you can trade the combined liquidity from one interface.

Oku is non-custodial: your funds never leave your wallet until a trade executes. You trade directly against the underlying DEX's audited contracts, and Oku only finds and routes the best path.

You pay Plasma network gas plus the underlying DEX's swap fee. Oku adds 0% on top, with no platform fee.

Bridge assets to Plasma from any chain using Oku's bridge, then trade them on Plasma in the same app. You'll need a small amount of XPL for gas.

A DEX is a single exchange with its own liquidity. A DEX aggregator like Oku searches across many DEXes at once and routes your trade to the best combination, so you get a better price than picking one DEX yourself.
