What is Monad?

Monad is a high-performance Layer 1 designed to deliver EVM compatibility at dramatically higher throughput than Ethereum. It uses parallel execution, an optimized consensus mechanism (MonadBFT), and a rearchitected state database to target 10,000+ transactions per second while remaining fully compatible with existing Solidity contracts and Ethereum tooling. MON is the native gas token. Monad's pitch is that developers shouldn't have to choose between EVM compatibility and performance — you can deploy the same code you'd run on Ethereum, but at speeds competitive with non-EVM chains like Solana. The ecosystem is newer, with infrastructure, DeFi primitives, and consumer apps actively launching. For builders and users who want high-throughput execution without learning a new VM, Monad is one of the more technically ambitious EVM L1s.

How to Bridge to Monad

1

Connect your wallet

Use a Web3 wallet like MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or WalletConnect to connect to Oku. Make sure you have enough gas tokens on your source chain to approve and submit the transaction. Oku will detect your wallet balance and display tokens available to bridge.

2

Select your route

Choose Monad as your destination network and pick the token you want to receive. Oku automatically compares routes across integrated bridges to find the fastest and cheapest option for your transfer size.

3

Confirm and bridge

Review the estimated arrival time and output amount. Confirm the transaction in your wallet. You can track the bridge status directly on Oku until your tokens arrive on Monad.

Frequently asked questions

Bridge times vary by provider and asset, but most routes into Monad settle within a few seconds to a few minutes. Oku shows the estimated time for each route before you confirm.

Oku automatically compares quotes from every integrated bridge to Monad in real time and routes your transfer through the cheapest available path. There are no additional fees from Oku on top of the underlying bridge cost.

Oku aggregates LI.FI, Across, Stargate, deBridge, Squid, Wormhole, and more. The exact route used depends on the token, amount, and current liquidity across providers.

Oku itself is non-custodial — your funds are never held by Oku. Bridge security depends on the underlying bridge protocol selected for your route. Oku only integrates audited, established bridges.

You can bridge any token supported by the underlying bridges Oku integrates. Common tokens for Monad include MON, USDC, USDT, and WETH. The full list is shown in the token selector.

Yes — you'll need a small amount of MON on Monad to pay gas for any transactions after bridging. Some routes Oku supports include a small gas top-up at the destination.
