What is World Chain?

World Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP Stack, operated by the team behind World (formerly Worldcoin). Its distinguishing feature is integration with World ID, a privacy-preserving proof-of-humanity system based on iris verification via the Orb device — meaning the chain can natively prioritize transactions from verified humans and offer gas-free allocations to them. ETH is the gas token. The chain is part of the Superchain ecosystem. WLD, the World project's token, is the most prominent asset on the chain. World Chain has grown rapidly in active users thanks to the built-in onboarding funnel from the World app, which has tens of millions of verified users globally. For bridging, World Chain is most relevant for interacting with the World ecosystem or accessing WLD and chain-native assets.

How to Bridge to World Chain

1

Connect your wallet

Use a Web3 wallet like MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or WalletConnect to connect to Oku. Make sure you have enough gas tokens on your source chain to approve and submit the transaction. Oku will detect your wallet balance and display tokens available to bridge.

2

Select your route

Choose World Chain as your destination network and pick the token you want to receive. Oku automatically compares routes across integrated bridges to find the fastest and cheapest option for your transfer size.

3

Confirm and bridge

Review the estimated arrival time and output amount. Confirm the transaction in your wallet. You can track the bridge status directly on Oku until your tokens arrive on World Chain.
